SDJA is a progressive and dynamic firm aimed at providing cost effective, reliable and value-based audit solutions to the not-for-profit industry and private sector. Our team has worked with a vast array of entities across both the not-for-profit and private sectors, from newly incorporated bodies through to high profile national entities.
Why We Exist
Based on our experience and client feedback over the years, there is a demand for specialist audit providers in the not-for-profit industry and private sector. Unfortunately, entities operating in these markets currently have minimal options available in this regard. We have been established to meet this need. The core to our success is built around getting the basics right and addressing the "pet hates" clients have encountered in previous audit-based relationships, including:

How We Operate
We tailor our approach to meet the specific size, nature and needs of an individual organisation. Our senior team members who have the relevant technical and industry experience play a key hands on role in the delivery of all of our work. We believe that clear and consistent communication is the key to a successful relationship. Throughout the audit process, we maintain regular contact with those charged with governance and/or key management personnel covering matters such as audit plan, key dates, status of work, issues identified and audit findings. We use the latest paperless audit software to ensure our audits are performed in a compliant and efficient manner. This provides us with the ability to perform audit work onsite or remotely, depending on an individual client's preferences. Procedures and processes have also been established to ensure we meet our various technical, ethical, independence and quality assurance requirements.
Simon is the founder of SDJA and possesses over 13 years of audit and advisory experience with big 4 and mid-tier firms. He specialises in providing auditing services to both not-for-profit entities and privately owned businesses from varying industries. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for delivering exceptional quality, specific industry insight and value-add to all clients. Simon is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Registered Company Auditor with ASIC and a Registered Auditor with Registered Organisations Commission.
Scott has been in the audit profession for over 6 years and has worked for both big 4 and mid-tier firms. He is an instrumental player in delivering quality service to clients in both the not-for-profit and private sectors and prides himself on being personable and dependable. Scott is in the process of working towards his membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Doug plays a critical role in the quality and review processes of SDJA. He has over 40 years of audit experience behind him, including a number of years as partner at Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PWC). He is renowned for identifying issues quickly and resolving them in an efficient and commercial manner. Doug is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a Registered Company Auditor with ASIC and a Registered Auditor with Registered Organisations Commission.
Antoinette is the much needed all-rounder in the SDJA team. She has spent over 7 years in the accounting profession, including a number of years in the audit division of a big 4 firm. Currently, she is an integral member in the delivery of audits and preparation of financial statements, in addition to playing a lead role in marketing, business development and the internal accounting needs of SDJA. Antoinette is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
