Self-evaluation tool regarding a charity’s obligations released
The Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) has recently released a self-evaluation tool aimed at assisting charities to assess if they are meeting their obligations.
The self-evaluation poses questions and prompts charities to describe both the practical steps they are taking to meet their obligations and to list the relevant policies or procedures. The tool covers the five Governance Standards as well as ongoing obligations relating to record keeping, reporting and the duty to notify. An action plan is also included within the self-evaluation to assist in remedying any issues identified.
