New Disclosure Regulations for Clubs

Aimed at promoting compliance with director and manager training, the recently introduced Registered Clubs Amendment (Disclosures) Regulation 2019 requires clubs to disclose certain information to their members.

Under the Registered Clubs Regulation 2015, Part 6 currently requires:

• all directors to complete required training within 12 months of becoming a director (for clubs with annual gaming machines profit of more than $1 million);

• at least two directors to complete required training within 12 months of becoming a director (for other clubs); and

Under the Registered Clubs Amendment (Disclosures) Regulation 2019, clubs must make the following details available to members:

• the directors’, secretary and/or managers’ completion of the required training referred to in the Registered Clubs Regulation 2015; and

• reasons for any exemptions.
